MONTANA!

Monday February 17, 2025 I made it to montana! 🏔 Heres the recap 🫡 Day 1 👏 -one more mtc pday haha -i packed literally all day and ended up sending the majority of my stuff home ( and my bags were still overweight 💀) - me, feds, and coil have been wearing clear studs in our peircings for the whole 2 weeks, and the last hour of the last day of class, our teacher told us to take them out. Like bruh -said goodbye to the boys 😥 -somebody removed bennetts bangs idk what to tell ya -we stayed up wayyy too late so were about to be running on 2 hours of sleep for a travel day🥱 Day 2👏 - ahhh travel day!! -we woke up so late so we were panicking and had to rush to the travel office. Very stressful but kinda a fun 3 in the morning adventure -ok getting to the airport was probably the most stressful thing of my life. We got on a bus, then on a train. When it was time to get off the train we had to get 26 missionaries worth of suitcases ( 3-4 suitcases each ) off the train in 45 seconds. So elders were literally chucking suitcases off and people were grabbing their stuff and running bc we had to get on another train lol. Then same deal with that train, and we finally made it to the airport! -we got starbucks AND jimmy johns at the airport. Ifykyk. I was hype 😎😎 -it was wild to think that i was finally on my way to the place ive been thinking about for 6 months - flew to montana! Feds and i were freaking out. Ahhh we were so exited. Seeing all the snow covered mountains up in a plane was so cool -landed and met our mission president/his wife. They are the cutest. We also met the stl's we were gonna be staying with! -the stl's drove us to the church. They blasted Montana by owl city with the windows down and we raced the elders. ( they won but we dont talk about that ) -took a nap once we got to the host apartment and was woken up by glass shattering ( dont worry sister wallis i wont tell them you broke the light ) Day 3!👏 -we played volleyball!! Ive gotten to play so often on the mish and i was not expecting that 🏐 -we went to the church and trained pretty much all day. It was a tonnn of info and i dont remember most of it lol -I went and knocked doors with sisyer Nykamp! It was scary but really really fun 😁 -this is low key gross but i found out that the snot in your nose can freeze in negative temps - we went to presidents house for dinner, and to find out what areas we were gonna be assigned to! It kinda felt like getting my mission call again, i was sooo nervous - im going to great falls!! And sister bradley is my comp! - i got to play guitar for the first time in forever -i found someone that knows asl! I got to have luke a full blown convo with her it was so fun. Day 4!👏 -transfer day! ( i was so scared ) - we had to drive from missoula to helena to meet our comps ( or so i thought ). Me feds and wallis fell asleep for the majority of the 2 hour ride. - the helena temple is the tiniest thing ive ever seen. Its like house sized 🕍 -turns out me and another sister had to drive an extra 30 mins to cascade to meet our comps for some reason - had to say goodbye to feds and wallis 😭. Tears were shed im gonna miss them soooo much - drove to cascade and finally met my comp, sister bradley!! Shes from texas!! Kinda....😉 - then we drove to our appt! ( my home for the next 6 weeks ) its actually so cute. We got one of the better appts in the area. I unpacked pretty much immediately because im sooo sick of living out of a suitcase - we went to walmart and found out crumbl cookies makes soap now - we went to jimmy johnsss ( im obsessed if you cant tell ) Day 5!👏 -valentines day! - woke up late and had 7 mins to get ready for the gym ☝️ - i met my district! The elders are so funny and the sisters are really sweet. Im the only greenie tho so i feel like im so behind lol - the montana experience is already in full swing. A member called us and yapped our ears off about the most random stuff. Imagine " i bought my wife a gun, for valentines day!!" In the most hick accent youve ever heard -we went out to lunch as a district and elder lawrence is from lindon and knows almost all of my friends yet ive never met him before this. So we yapped about that like the whole time - elder derheim is a garbage disposal - we went out and started actually proselyting for the first time. It was v exiting. Brad carried tho i think i said like 3 sentences the whole day - we visited the cutest 94 year old lady. But we cant get her ro go to church bc theres soooo much snow on the ground - watched a kid down 2 whole limes straight. She just bit into it. Idk if thats a montana thing or what 😂 - im figuring out very quickly that being a picky eater is not gonna work on the mish. Ive got some ajusting to do lol. -i got musicccc. i can finally listen to noah kahan ans lizzy again 😭. Only on pday but its something lol - brad is a magician and made a mousepad disapear - the elders heart attacked us and gave us our fav candy and roses! ❤️ Day 6!👏 - played volleyball again!! I also cooked elder lawrence in 1v1 basketball - went to a baptism! - we went to visit this 84 year old guy named bob, and ended up getting his caretaker to agree to have missionaries come to her house! - we were winning at the missionary work. We were on a roll and got hit after hit it was awesome - there are these people called hooterites. Their basically german amish people, and somehow we have some of their sausage so brad made burritos with it and they slapped🌯 - whoever told me that great falls was the ugly part of the mission was lying bc we drove out to a more secluded area and holyyyy it was so pretty. We had a crazy view of the frozen river Day 7!👏 -sunday!! - church is at 12 so we got all of our studies out of the way before - church was really good! Every new person i meet has something diffrent to say about my name. Its really funny but it low key gets old lol - we had a meeting with dan! ( dan is obsessed with my comp and her last comp, like name dropped them in a fb post obsessed ) he was saying the most wild things and i was trying soooo hard not to laugh. But dw hes harmless - today was chill, some of the elders came over and we chatted with them in the doorway for a really long time it was fun Anyways the first couple days in the feild have been awesome! Real missionary work is really cool. Its a lot slower that i expected, but were getting a lot done and im learning so much! Im exited for when i can share my thoughts with people and have them actually make sense bc up to this point ive been freezing up and its real awkward. But im just gonna throw myself into it head first and just trust that god has my back! Love and miss you all sm 😘 - sister cashdollar :)
