Brad tried to die

Monday February 24, 2025 Missionary work is in full swing and im lovinggg it! This week has been really really good, minus the fact that the weather is bipolar and has been both -24 and 50 degrees in the same week. Great falls is a tough area, and theres not a ton of people that are interested in what we have to say, so weve been doing a ton of inactive member work and weve been having a lot of success with it! Google photos➡️ https://photos.app.goo.gl/xjfYB9Y6ZcpAPPLK7 Week recap ⬇️ Day 1👏 -1st pday in the feild! - we have access to a crossfit gym and we go every morning! - we went out to breakfast with our people. "Your dad is hot cashdollar" -we printed out a ton of pictures so i could make my picture wall above my study desk! -we went and got free ice cream with our district🍦 -we saw 2 drunk ladies at walmart having the time of their lives pushing eachother in the cart 🕺🕺 -we blasted wildflower by billie eilish while we got the literal chunks of ice out from under our windshield wipers so that they would work lol -talked to my fam ❤️ -elder shirtluff is a softy and cries to lacy by olivia rodrigo Day 2!👏 - so were at the gym right? One of the elders put 135 on the bar for us to squat.... brad tries it... cant get it back up, and tries to bail forward. Guys my trainer almost died on me a week into my mission 🫡 - brad made reallyyyy good caramel popcorn and packaged some of it up so we could take it to some of our missionary friends 🤗 -we went to shovel a lady named shirleys driveway! Her daughter was out doing it when we got there, so we told her we could do it and she went inside. She told her mom that " those missionary girls are here again and they fired me!" -we tried to burn our apartment down with a crockpot. We forgot about it while we were contacting so we rushed home expecting to see flames but were pleasantly suprised when our chicken was cooked perfectly 👌 -we knocked on this one ladys door and she didnt answer so i decided it was a good idea to put my face in the snow and leave a faceprint for her. It started freezing to my face almost immediately 🙃 -we went and had some really gross chinese food, and brads fortune cookie really called her out... " things are not always what they seem, its not that bad!" This was after we had been complaining about how cold it was all day 😂 -we went to the stl's apartment ( in street clothes 😱) and we planned a mass sleepover for zone confrence! - i had sisters in the host apartment when i first got to montana, tell me that elders will never show up at your door randomly.....well obviously theyve never met elder wright and elder lawrence. We end up having them knock on our door almost every night and half the time its just because theyre bored and want to talk to us. And everytime they leave they say " love you bye!" -i started teaching brad asl 🤟 Day 3!👏 - it was -24 this day 🥶 -we went to the hospital with the elders to hang out with a kid named dominic! We played some card games and elder wright showed him some stuff on guitar! It was really sweet. -i scared a nurse out of the elevator by complimenting her scrub cap ( she pressed 5 but got off at 4 ) i guess its pretty intimadating when your in an elevator full of kids with tags on. Ahh we might try and baptise you while your not looking or something 👀 -we went to see a lady named sandra ( an inactive member that weve been able to get to go back to church! ) we had a lesson about the temple! -we went and took really cute pics for facebook! The snow makes everything 1000x prettier -we didnt have a member dinner this night so we decided to cheff it up and make some salmon that a ward member had given us. It turned out soooo good 🐟 - the elders were very invested in our salmon making adventure and had to come over and try it. Elder wright also sent me all the music he has on his phone. Brother is really coming in clutch -me and brad painted our nails and listened to music 💅 Day 4!👏 - today marked my official 1 month as a missionary! - we had district council! The elders made hot chocolate for us. During district council we learned a lot about how obedience brings miracles, and it inspired me and brad, so starting after pday we are going to be 100 percent crazy obedient and see what cool things happen because of it! - we got jimmy johns again because i cannot live without it 🥪 -i taught brad some more asl! We made a little intro video inroducing ourselves and sharing a little testimony. It was so fun 🤟 -we were supposed to have a lesson with an anctual deaf person today. But she canceled. It made me sad but hopefully we can do it next week! Ive been wanting to use asl foreverrrrr. -we had a lesson with a cute family. When we walked up to the door, the little girl peeked out the window and said " mom the mormons are here! ". It made us laugh so hard. The lesson was good tho and i found out its easier to teach kids rather than adults so i gotta work on that.😂 - we went to all the houses with dogs this day. And people will literally let their dogs be all over you with no apology haha. So by the end of the day i had so much drool and dog hair on me that when we got home i could not shower fast enough. 🐕 Day 5!👏 -it was sooo warm this day. I didnt have to layer or anything ( yk its bad when i consider 30 degrees warm ) - we taught a lesson on the 10 commandments! I feel like im finally starting to be confident in what i say when im teaching, its really cool. ( the guy we taught had a really cool truck too but thats irrelevant) -we went to applebees with some cute ladies in our ward ❤️ -we saw a miracle! We were trying to decide which house to go to first, and brad was prompted to go to a specific one, and if we hadnt gone to that house we wouldnt have met david! He walked up to us while we were on the porch, he started the convo by saying that great falls was a " godless place " and that " god smites him everyday of his life ". But ended by taking a book of mormon and saying he'll try and come to church! He is homeless and doesnt have a phone so we cant really contact him but we are really praying that he comes to church sometime! -we went and saw one of our favorite friends! Her name is darlene and she is 93 years old. She started off my telling us the story of when her grandson called her the b word ( hearing an old lady say the b word is really funny ). And then she took us on a tour of her house and ended up giving us eveything she didnt want lol. But we ended up with a pretty cool film camera.📸 The elders had to come save us because darlene is a yapper, and we really needed to leave for another lesson but we couldnt. But when the elders got there it got worse, because i think darlene fell in love with elder wright, so at that point we accepted our fate and chatted with darlene a little bit longer. -then we had a lesson with terryl! Or tyrel as elder wright likes to say. The lesson was on the law of chastity so we were all pretty nervous but it went well! Brad and elder wright taught everything perfectly while me and elder lawrence sat on the couch and tried to listen lol. And we finally put her on date for baptism so thats exiting! 🎉 Day 6!👏 -we went and got flowers for a cute old lady we visited. We shared a message about the book of mormon with her and her husband, and im slowly easing my way into leading discussions, so i tried doing it for this one and i did pretty good. Def had to signal for brad to help me tho. 💐 - weve knocked the door of this deaf ladys house a few times and have never gotten her to answer. Like cmon i just want to tell you about jesus and use sign language to do it, open the doorrrrrr -we went and helped the elders do service for this other lady. Shes crazy. She called elder wright a wimp and punched him in the stomach, we went grocery shopping for her so that we could make her lunch, she didnt care about the our mission rules at all and kept asking us to do stuff without our companions. She also kept hitting elder wright on his hand where he has a cut and calling him weak, and she kept smacking him in the butt with a cutting board. All jokingly of course, but I guess when youre 90 you can do whatever you want lol. It was a very entertaining couple of hours 😂 - so the rule with driving in our mission is that if you go 90mph your driving privileges get taken away. So basically we were cruising on the highway when all the sudden our little car sensor startes going off and giving us a speed warning. Brad took her foot off the gas and I looked over at the speedometor and we were really freaking close to 90 lol. Neither of us are sure if we actually hit 90 or not so were still waiting for that phone call.🚗 -sometimes people do really funny things unironically and you cant laugh because it would be rude. So we were sitting with this lady named barb and chatting, when mid sentence the lets out the loudest rawr of a burp ive ever heard, and then proceeds on with her story like nothing happend. Like cmon i am not strong enough to not laugh at that. But i held it together and we laughed about it in the car after 😂 - we didnt have a member dinner so brad took me to her fav mongolian bbq place and it was fire Day 7!👏 -sunday! - i was getting ready as one does after getting out of the shower, when brad comes into the bathroom and says " would i look good with short hair? " and one thing led to another and all the sudden we were in the kitchen and her hair was 6 inches shorter. Call me a hairstylist 💇‍♀️ ( but fr tho she eats with the short hair ) - church was amazing. Releif society was probably one the the most spirit filled things ive ever experienced. I think that was the strongest ive felt the spirit on my entire mission. I genuinly cant put it into words but it was so good 🤍 -were trying to make a fun facebook reel where we interview our members and have them share a quick little testimony, so we went to the carrolls house to interview brother carroll, or as he likes to call himself, the GOAT 🐐. - we had another lesson with terryl and we taught her the restoration! While i was talking, i got to testify about the truthfulness of the church, the book of mormon, and joseph smith in one fell swoop it was really cool. - we went and visited darlene again and she had laid out a ton of stuff she wanted to give the elders, and she insisted that we call them. So we gave her brads phone and she told them what she had for them. Shes obsessed with them and its so funny😂 A tonnn has happened this week and basically i love my mission! Montana is definitely the place i am meant to be! I also have the best trainer i could possibly have. Im learning so much from her about how to be a missionary! Im also really starting to appreciate scripture study ( the book of mormon is so cool guys ). I know thats a very missionary thing for me to say but it so true.
